Meet Sophie

Hi, I’m Sophie, the founder of That’s So Therapy, PLLC and a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in work with high-achieving adults and Millennial professionals navigating anxiety, burnout, perfectionism and long-standing relational patterns.

I work with individuals who appear capable and successful on the outside, yet feel overwhelmed, anxious or disconnected internally. Many of my clients have spent years in survival mode overfunctioning, people-pleasing or carrying emotional responsibility for others without realizing how exhausting that has been.

Therapy with me is a space to slow down, understand the patterns that developed under pressure and build a sense of emotional safety that doesn’t depend on performance or productivity.

If you’re struggling with anxiety, perfectionism or burnout, you don’t need to prove that you’re “bad enough” to deserve support. You deserve to feel grounded, worthy and at ease without earning it.

  • In our work together, I show up as compassionate, direct and deeply human. I help clients identify and shift patterns that once served a protective purpose such as overachieving, people-pleasing or avoiding conflict, but no longer support their well-being.

My approach integrates trauma-informed therapy, attachment-based frameworks, and nervous-system regulation, all grounded in cultural awareness. Sessions are structured and intentional, balancing emotional insight with practical tools you can apply in everyday life.

I will challenge you with care, because growth happens when safety and honesty coexist.

  • Before launching That’s So Therapy, PLLC, I worked in Psychiatric Intensive Care, supporting individuals through crisis and trauma recovery. That experience taught me that true healing happens when people feel safe, seen and supported, not pathologized.

I founded That’s So Therapy, PLLC to create that kind of space: where high-functioning adults don’t have to justify their exhaustion or explain why they need support. A space where you can show up as you are and begin working toward change with intention.

Today, my work focuses on helping driven professionals understand long standing patterns, reduce anxiety and build emotional balance that is sustainable.

    • A therapy space where you don’t have to shrink, mask or perform

    • A therapist who understands how culture, identity and early experiences shape your emotional life

    • A balance of emotional exploration and practical tools for daily life

    • Support to break generational patterns, building boundaries, self-trust and healthier relationships without shame.

  • I believe therapy doesn’t have to be cold or clinical to be effective. While the work is meaningful and intentional, it also makes room for humor, rest and humanity. Healing can be serious without being heavy and progress often happens when compassion and honesty lead the way.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin. You just need the willingness to show up.
